Rhett Miller

What’s better than an Old 97’s show? That’s right, A Very Special Evening with the Old 97’s. Instead of one band set, both Rhett Miller and Murry Hammond serve as opening acts, each playing solo mini-sets.

With the local Unknown Americans as an opener (check them out), REK managed to pack the Boulder Theater.

Playing the second night in the Colorado portion of his tour, James McMurtry played the Boulder Theater to a Sunday night crowd of seemingly more dedicated fans.

They danced when appropriate, mouthed lyrics and applauded wildly after solos. For someone who gets minimal airplay in the area, he’s got quite a group of converts.

Local Ft. Collins band, Motor Home opened and James and band took the stage a little after nine.

Patty Griffin – Boulder Theater, CO

The second night of a two-night stand at the lovely Boulder Theater found approximately 800 Patty Griffin fans ignoring the dreary weather outside, captivated by a striking variety of styles and sounds.

Terremoto opened, bringing the crowd to their feet dancing towards the end of their set. Michael and Luis were both hanging out in the lobby afterward, signing CDs, talking to fans, hanging out.
