The Lumineers and Shovels & Rope – ACL Live Taping, TX

IMG_2346Last night’s Austin City Limits taping of Denver-based darlings, The Lumineers kept the studio audience on their feet, stomping and clapping along to quintessential folk-sing-along “Ho Hey” and “Stubborn Love” while sprinkling in some covers (Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues”) and a new song, simply called “Duet.”

Shovels & Rope (Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent) opened the night with their Gillian Welch/David Rawlings harmonies (and murder ballads) mixed with raunchy rock ‘n’ roll vibe.

The show will be aired on Austin City Limits as part of their 39th season this fall.
