Headlining the Gentilly Stage on the first day of Jazz Fest, the Avett Brothers brought their rowdy blend of alt country to New Orleans. Following a brief break in their tour to accommodate the birth of an Avett child (which necessitated the cancellation of the band’s Austin area performance), the Brothers demonstrated the enthusiasm and musicianship that is bringing them increasingly larger audiences.
